    Some very good underwater footage of this in last nights "Britain's Secret Seas." (Episode 4 on BBC2 and now on i player for the next 7 days.)

    (Much better vis in this then when I've dived on her!)

    She is in very good condition thankfully. I was impressed to see that the top of her conning tower looks just as it did in the Newsreel footage.

    And this is despite her being a popular dive site. It is good to see that divers are respecting her war grave status.

    Yes. I think a couple of bodies were recovered from the hangar and this together with an open hangar door and an open hatch in the hangar led them to believe that they were trying to trim the time to launch, too much.

    The hatches were all sealed and the pressure hull will stay intact for a long time. The lighter gauge deck plating was (as I recall) starting to corrode through.
