    AMS FORUM - POSTING GUIDELINES

Views and opinions expressed by members do not necessarily reflect the views of the Association of Model Submariners or the site owner.

Defamatory, racist, hateful, pornographic, illegal or insulting content must be avoided on this forum. You must respect the fact that people may have a different opinion than you. Forum Members are expected to exercise good manners and fair comment when posting and to avoid making statements which may be seen as unfair, objectionable or making unsubstantiated criticism of other parties.

If you are in conflict with another member, please use PMs for that, this forum is not an arena!

Posts will be regularly monitored by the site owner and administrators but all members are encouraged to report any instances of posts not complying with these guidelines by using the "Report " facility so that appropriate action can be taken without delay. Posts may be moderated, locked or removed at the discretion of the site owner and administrators.

Excessive “plugging “ of commercial interests by the company or individual offering the services are generally not acceptable in threads other than the “commercial sub kits and parts manufacturers ” section of the forum. There is no problem if you are describing your experiences with equipment that you have bought with your own money.

Our basic principle is that copying and stealing other people’s work or ideas is not acceptable.

Also the advice you give could result in the recipient using up a lot of money or many hours of work. So advice given on this forum should be designed to be helpful to the recipient and not designed for the advisor to just “show off” knowledge. You should try to give some basis or reference (e.g. personal experience, observed practice, internet information, book or magazine article or “just an idea”) so that the recipient can judge the risk of failure.

Photographs to illustrate the advice are always helpful and these should preferably be your own work. If they are not, try to state the source.

You must respect the moderators and administrators. They all work voluntarily on this forum and they are human, not machines!

REASONS WHY YOU MAY WISH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE’S POST. (Click the !Report tab in the posting area.)

    Abusive or unjustified criticism

    Abuse of a commercial interest

    Excessive bumping of posts.

    Unhelpful & "Showing Off"

    Source of advice not given.

Unsuitable open Forum topic (Use PM?)

    Abusing a minority (e.g. sexist, racist )
