Not long to go to this.
To "whet your appetites" all these photos/ videos were taken at the Regatta held yesterday and include:

David J's super newly completed Victor.
John's Thundertiger and Brian and his amazing boat designed and built by Wallace and Gromit and our thanks to all the surface craft that took part too!
My "Dzik"was also present and made yet another Polish family very happy when they recognised the flag (and corrected my pronunciation!)

Very nice David...bit windy by the sounds of the background noise!

That Victor is beautiful...is it built from the Orion Mouldings hull/deck?

Glad to see another Neptune performing as well...

The Victor is lovely isn't it and you are asking the question we would all like to know - even David does not know the original supplier!

He bought the mouldings as part of a wholesale deal. They were in several sections and the hull is about 60 inches long.

He would be grateful for any information.(I suggested that he ask you anyway but it as only yesterday!)

    Post  DAVE J Mon Aug 15, 2011 10:12 pm

The Victor Orion Mouldings has the right length and beam but the one I was given was in five parts, may be a early version?

One week to go to the Barrow Sub Day (Courtesy of Furness MBC)!

(BTW David confirmed that the hull was Orion mouldings when he spoke with them at Haydock Park - it may have been a specially made one for export to the US)

David's done a fine job on it, David...it looks much better than some of them that I've seen.

He has hasn't he - hence the prizes.

I also find it very impressive that it actually works so well (see the videos) and that is only shortly after he finished it i.e not very much time for trials.

So his models are not just beautiful "Airfixes" on a stand.

A very enjoyable day (despite the hurricane remnant!) Many thanks to all who attended and to Furness Model Boat Club. My thanks to Andrew G for many of these photos.

Was that not the German (Darnell) sub you were interested in, Richard?

The Type XX111...yes, I'm seriously contemplating building one, David...it's the right size for me to cope with.

I thought it was that one.
It is an original Darnell but Ian reports that it is very difficult to control in water.(I see that it has very small control surfaces.)
But it makes a nice model.

Yes, I foresee a few problems with that, David...could be a job for JR and his fancy electronics, maybe? Or maybe trying to convert a pigs ear into a silk purse would defeat even him?
